FamilyMart’s popular Convenience Wear line has gone very Japanese with this limited collaboration honoring Chiyonofuji, the legendary 58th Yokozuna. At first glance they may look like stylish striped socks, but the design actually takes inspiration from the traditional shimenawa rope worn by a Yokozuna, with 「横綱 千代の富士」 calligraphy printed on the sole — a subtle tribute to one of the greatest names in sumo history.
It’s the kind of product you could probably only find in Japan: part everyday fashion, part convenience-store culture and part sumo memorabilia. Whether you’re a Chiyonofuji fan, a sumo enthusiast or simply love unusual Japanese exclusives, these are a fun little piece of Japan to wear. The collaboration is a limited release, and we have selected sizes and colors available now at Big Search Osaka while supplies last.
